IDC Staff InstructorOverview

Just as scuba divers look up to divemasters, instructor candidates really respect IDC Staff Instructors. As the name implies, IDC Staff Instructors assist with instructor training and share their wisdom and experience with new PADI leaders. Taking the IDC Staff Instructor course provides you with in-depth knowledge of the instructor development process and prepares you to shape the next generation of PADI Professionals. It’s also a great career move.

So go beyond the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating to assist with PADI Instructor Development Courses (PADI IDCs) or teach programs within the PADI IDC. Become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor! You’ll be able to teach the Assistant Instructor Course in its entirety and assist with PADI IDCs. You’ll get the thrill of mentoring prospective PADI Instructors as they begin their Assistant Instructor training and the joy of guiding them through their Instructor Examinations.

Prerequisites

  • Certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
  • Certified Emergency First Response Instructor

  • Course Director Manual
  • Set of Evaluation Slates including: Confined Water Presentation Evaluation Slate, Open Water Presentation Evaluation Slate and the Skill Development Score Slate

  • Scuba and scuba equipment.

  • Two signaling devices – one audible and one visual
  • Cutting tool such as a knife, compass and dive watch
