Go beyond the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating to assist with PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) or teach programs within the IDC. Become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor! You’ll be able to teach the Assistant Instructor Course in its entirety and assist with IDCs. You’ll get the thrill of mentoring prospective PADI Instructors as they begin their Assistant Instructor training and the joy of guiding them through their Instructor Examinations.

Prerequisites

  • To qualify for training as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you must:
  • Be certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
  • Be a current certified Emergency First Response Instructor
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Agree to conduct all PADI certification courses and experience programs using methods consistent with PADI Standards and philosophy as outlined in the PADI Instructor Manual and PADI’s Guide to Teaching
  • Agree to use the PADI System and components in their entirety

Equipment Needed

  • Snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, and booties)
  • Scuba equipment (rental is available)
  • Tanks and Weights provided
  • Two signaling devices – one audible and one visual
  • Cutting tool such as a knife, compass and dive watch
